The road may seem lonely, but I have myself alone to blame.
Not because I have no one who cares about me, but because I have often chosen to carry my ideas, fears, and responsibilities quietly. I have spent a great deal of my life learning how to depend on myself. At times, that independence protected me. At other times, it caused me to withdraw when I could have reached out for encouragement or support.
That is why this quote speaks to me:
“Learn to enjoy your own company without isolating yourself. Independence builds confidence, clarity, and the freedom to keep moving forward.”
My journey with this website has reflected that lesson. ETJourne did not become what it is today overnight. I have worked on it through seasons of confidence and uncertainty, progress and frustration. I have written blog posts, created financial tools, recorded podcast episodes, published books, learned unfamiliar technology, and rebuilt pages when things did not work correctly.
There have been times when I wondered whether anyone noticed the work I was doing. I have watched the numbers, waited for visitors, hoped for subscribers, and questioned whether my products were truly helping people. Sometimes the only purchases were my own test orders. Sometimes the person clicking the email link was probably me. Yet each small step taught me something.
My website has also grown alongside me. It has been present through changes in my health, my confidence, and my understanding of what legacy truly means. After my stroke, moving forward required more than physical strength. I had to learn how to believe in my voice again—even when that voice sounded different. I had to stop waiting until everything looked perfect before allowing myself to be seen.
ETJourne is more than a website or an online shop. It represents my decision to organize what I have learned, prepare others for their own financial journeys, and build something meaningful that can remain after me. It is part of my legacy.
I am still learning that independence does not mean doing everything alone. I can enjoy my own company, trust my judgment, and continue moving forward while still allowing others to walk beside me. Confidence is not having every answer. Sometimes it is simply having the courage to take the next right step.
The road may occasionally feel lonely, but it is still leading somewhere. And as long as Allah/The Almighty allows me the time, strength, and clarity to continue, I will keep learning, building, and sharing what I know—one post, one product, and one faithful step at a time.
