Greetings! I’ve been on a mini vacation from my bill paying job and decided to work on my passion, “bringing awareness of the economic disparity between the rich and poor within the United States”. During my research, I came across this video and it speaks volumes…believe it or not.

My Why

This past Tuesday, I was running an errand with my son and we ended up in the zip code of 77093 (the Eastside of Houston) where there is a lot of closed businesses and dilapidated houses. As opposed to where we live, in the zip code area 77084 with many grocery markets providing access to fresh produce and vibrant shopping malls.

My son had an appointment so I dropped him off and went to find something to eat. I drove for a good little while, thinking I would find a healthy foods market or a Krogers, maybe even an HEB (supermarkets with fresh produce), not so lucky. I didn’t want to get lost (me not being familiar with the area) so I stayed close to the Eastex freeway and turned down Kelley St.

frenchy'sI drove past a few gas stations, convenience stores, liquor stores and a small restaurant called Frenchy’s. “Finally”, I said out loud and stopped in to check the menu. They had fish, chicken, mashed and french-fried potatoes, collard greens, and salad to name a few things on their menu. I’m trying to eat more plant-based foods, so I ask what the collard greens were cooked with and the ladies behind the glass window told me “bacon”. I quickly checked them off my mental list. So, I placed my order and asked if I could leave a few postcards with information about my book “Journey Into Finance” on the counter, and then handed two, one to each, a glossy business card for a free download of my eBook to the ladies that served me. Who doesn’t like “free” merchandise?!

While sitting and waiting for my order, I realized, this is where I need to spread my message of financial independence, and building a legacy. These are my people, my niche audience.

my hometownMy story started in an area much like this back in my hometown.

The clip above “A Tale of Two Zip Codes” by Blackmath, touched my heart. Like, share, and/or comment, I’d love to read your thoughts. This is a peek into my life, as my journey continues.

Thanks for watching and reading.

Wishing you peace and prosperity,

Things They are a Changin’

There’s more to life than what we’ve been told. Oh yes! Enlightenment is knowing that what we know is only a small fraction of the truth of our existence. I know now that the more I learn- the more I need to LEARN!

Check out this video and let me know your thoughts:

No one is perfect, we are all “works in progress”. That is why I work on myself-improvement and encourage others to do the same. If this is my break-down, then let it begin so I can awaken renewed and transformed like the Butterfly!

Implementing Change

Video Posted on Updated on

It’s the end of the month and the beginning of a new one, which means it’s time to update our monthly budget/business plan.

There’s always utilities that remain the same, so this should be pretty easy. Remember to add a new credit card payment or personal loan to the expenses and use the money saved or left over to pay those debts off as quickly as possible. Paying off interest accruing debts will help to save money. As the CEO of your household, increasing wealth and paying off debt should be the focus as you build your legacy, while passing on these good practices to your progeny for years to come. Master your finances, not the other way around.

It’s also a good idea to check your credit score and submit any disputes or correct inaccuracies as well. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out my book “Journey Into Finance” which is available for purchase on, and the Kindle reading app (if you don’t have a Kindle, we offer the link on this site), and also on and Nook. BTW-Nook is offering a 10% discount. When you purchase the paperback/softcover for $15.99, remember 50% of the proceeds go to fund ENTowner Build A Legacy Inc., programs and services.

To those who’ve already purchased “Journey Into Finance”, left reviews (telling of the things that help and encourage them on their path to understanding their relationship with money), I send you much love and appreciation. 🙂 Thank you for your support! It’s not always easy being an entrepreneur, if it were, EVERYONE would do it. As a writer, sharing intimate life stories in my book and online for everyone to read is quite intimidating; but if we kept everything to ourselves, this world would be a very dull place. So to all the writers, authors, and storytellers around the world-thank you for having the courage to share.

If you haven’t noticed, we’re monetizing this blog (through affiliate links) to help with fulfilling our purpose of sharing knowledge and creating more abundance (in mind, health, and wealth) for generations to come. Thank you for clicking on the links and making purchases from My Favorite Things.

That’s all for now folks.

Wishing you peace, love and prosperity,
